Two accidents on Badrinath Highway leave passengers injured, traffic affected

Two separate road accidents were reported on the Badrinath National Highway on Wednesday, creating panic among passengers and affecting traffic movement in Chamoli district.

In the first incident, a bus and a truck collided head-on near Kuhed close to Chamoli market on the Badrinath Highway. The impact of the collision was so severe that both vehicles got badly stuck together, leading to a long traffic jam on the highway. Vehicles remained stranded for several kilometres after the accident.

Local residents, police personnel and the 108 ambulance service team reached the spot soon after the incident and shifted the injured passengers to hospital for treatment. Relief officials said all passengers suffered minor injuries and no loss of life was reported in the accident.

Eyewitnesses said it took considerable effort to separate the two damaged vehicles from each other. Panic and chaos prevailed at the accident site for some time, while police teams worked continuously to restore traffic movement on the highway.

In another incident on the same highway, two vehicles collided near Kaleshwar on Wednesday. Two passengers were injured in the accident. Police reached the spot and sent the injured to hospital with the help of the 108 ambulance service.
