Rudraprayag – A person died and another was seriously injured after rocks fell from a hillside near Hanuman Temple in Sonprayag on the Kedarnath Yatra route.
According to officials, one of the victims was a local resident while the other was of Nepali origin. The injured person was rushed to hospital for treatment after the incident. Police, administration and rescue teams reached the spot soon after receiving information and started relief operations.
Following the incident, the administration also began removing shops operating at sensitive locations as a precautionary measure to avoid further accidents during the Kedarnath Yatra.
