Rudrapur – A panic-like situation unfolded in Rudrapur after a Hella Infra Market factory employee was found dead under suspicious circumstances. The body was discovered inside the factory’s electric panel room, raising concerns of possible foul play. Police have registered a case and begun a detailed investigation.

Fifty-year-old Harish Shankar Gangwar, originally from Gauneri in Pilibhit and currently living in Bhadaipura, worked as a lifter operator at the company’s Sector 9 facility. He lived with his wife Heera Kali and 12-year-old son Vishal, while his elder daughter Pooja lived separately in the same building with her husband.

Harish reported for his night shift at 10 p.m. on Thursday. When he did not return home by 7 a.m., family members repeatedly called his phone but received no response. His son-in-law Bhupendra and brother-in-law Ghanshyam went to the factory, where security personnel claimed Harish had left at 6 a.m.

However, after searching the premises, the family discovered his body inside the factory’s electric panel room around 8:30 a.m. Shocked relatives alleged murder, stating that Harish had visible injuries on his face and head. Police arrived at the spot and sent the body for post-mortem, stating that the cause of death would only be confirmed after the report.

According to family members, someone was disconnecting Harish’s phone calls early in the morning. They claim this strengthens their suspicion of foul play, especially since the body was found inside the factory even though guards stated he had already left.

The death triggered chaos at the factory as his wife and daughter collapsed repeatedly while mourning. Relatives demanded strict action and a deeper investigation.

During police inquiry, coworker Rimpal Singh—who shared night duty with Harish—said both had been resting inside the electric panel room. He claimed Harish told him around midnight that he had taken medicine and felt sleepy. Rimpal slept on a table while Harish slept on the floor. According to him, Harish did not respond when called early in the morning, after which Rimpal left for home.
