Uttarakhand to Launch Trauma Network for Immediate and Accurate Treatment of Accident Victims

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Uttarakhand government is establishing a trauma network to ensure immediate and precise treatment for victims of road accidents and natural disasters. This network will integrate government and private medical colleges as well as major hospitals across the state based on their available facilities. Under this system, injured patients will be referred directly to hospitals equipped to provide the necessary treatment, minimizing delays and improving outcomes.

The state’s remote mountainous regions often lack large hospitals, specialist doctors, and advanced medical facilities, even at district hospitals or community health centers. This often forces patients to be transferred multiple times, delaying critical care. To address this challenge, the government has conducted several high-level meetings and is finalizing the network, which will also include AIIMS Rishikesh and private healthcare providers. The initiative aims to streamline referrals, ensuring that patients receive the right care at the right facility without unnecessary delays.
