A shocking murder incident was reported from Machhi Bazaar area of Dehradun on Monday morning, where a 23-year-old woman was brutally killed with a sharp weapon outside her house. The incident created panic in the locality.
According to police, the victim, identified as Gunnu, was standing outside her house when a युवक arrived on a motorcycle and started talking to her. During the conversation, the accused suddenly took out a sharp-edged weapon (chapad) and attacked her on the neck. The woman collapsed on the spot after sustaining severe injuries.
Local residents rushed the injured woman to Doon Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The incident led to chaos in the market area, with people gathering at the spot soon after the attack.
Police officials said the accused has been identified as Akash Kumar. A police team from Kotwali Nagar acted swiftly and arrested him shortly after the incident. Initial investigation suggests the attack was carried out deliberately, though police are still examining the motive behind the murder.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, and further legal proceedings are underway. Police have assured strict action in the case and said the investigation is ongoing.
