Uttarakhand Weather Turns Unstable: Rain in Plains, Snowfall Reported in Kedarnath

Weather conditions changed across Uttarakhand as rainfall was recorded from hill regions to the plains. Rain in Dehradun and Mussoorie led to a noticeable drop in temperature, while snowfall was reported in Kedarnath Temple.

The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings for strong winds and unstable weather conditions in several districts. According to the forecast, an orange alert has been issued for parts of Uttarkashi district, Rudraprayag district, Chamoli district, Bageshwar district and Pithoragarh district, where stormy winds of 40–50 km per hour are expected.

A yellow alert has also been issued for some areas of Dehradun, Haridwar district, Udham Singh Nagar district, Tehri Garhwal district, Pauri Garhwal district, Nainital district and Champawat district due to the possibility of strong winds.

Meteorologists have also predicted lightning, intense spells of rain and isolated hailstorms in the mountainous regions. Weather experts said that the maximum temperature across the state may drop by around three to five degrees over the next four to five days.

Earlier weather data showed that the maximum temperature in Dehradun was recorded at 31.3°C, about five degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature reached 16.3°C, four degrees higher than usual. In Mukteshwar, the maximum temperature was 23.6°C, six degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was 9.4°C, around four degrees higher than the seasonal average. Similar temperature trends were recorded in several other parts of the state.
