Dehradun is set to host the State Para Games from March 27 to 29, with around 150 para athletes from across Uttarakhand expected to participate. The event is being organised by the Paralympic Association of Uttarakhand at the Maharana Pratap Sports Stadium.
Teams from all 13 districts of the state will take part in the three-day competition, aimed at promoting sports among differently-abled athletes. Organising Secretary Prem Kumar shared details of the event during a press briefing at the Press Club, stating that multiple disciplines will be included.
Competitions will be held in para athletics, powerlifting, badminton, volleyball, and table tennis. These events are expected to provide a platform for athletes to demonstrate their abilities and potentially prepare for higher-level competitions.

The last date for player registration has been fixed as March 25. While the initiative reflects efforts to expand opportunities for para athletes in the state, consistent infrastructure support and regular events remain key concerns raised by stakeholders in recent years.
