Vigilance Arrests Two Officials for Bribery

Almora – A late-night disturbance was reported near Paparsheli on the Almora–Kasar Devi road, where a group of intoxicated individuals created chaos and damaged parked vehicles. The incident caused panic among local residents, who reported noise and disruption in the area.

According to police, four to five individuals under the influence of alcohol got into a fight among themselves and later vandalised two-wheelers parked along the roadside. The घटना took place in the Paparsheli area, which has seen increasing tourist and local movement in recent years, raising concerns about night-time monitoring.

Residents alerted emergency services by calling 112, following which police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Two individuals involved in the disturbance were taken into custody and action was initiated under the Police Act.

Local resident Balam Singh Mehra reported damage to vehicles and demanded compensation from the accused. He stated that such incidents are becoming a concern for locals, especially during late hours when supervision is limited.

Dinesh Parihar confirmed that the accused were detained and necessary legal action has been taken. Preliminary information suggests that the individuals are originally from Nepal and work locally as labourers.

While police responded promptly, the incident highlights recurring concerns over public disorder and the need for stricter enforcement to prevent alcohol-related disturbances in residential areas.
