Almora – A tragic construction accident in Almora’s Maichod village left one worker dead and two others injured after a sudden landslide caused a wall behind a house to collapse. The workers were buried under the debris while repairing the wall and clearing soil at the site.
According to officials, construction work was underway at the home of Krishna Singh when the incident occurred. Krishna Singh, along with workers Anand Ram (45) and Gopal Ram—both residents of Kotyuḍa—was repairing the rear wall and removing soil when a sudden land shift triggered the collapse.
All three were trapped under heavy debris. Disaster Management teams, SDRF personnel, and SDM Sadar Sanjay Kumar reached the spot and carried out rescue operations. The workers were pulled out and rushed to Base Hospital.
However, Anand Ram (45) succumbed to his injuries. Krishna Kumar Singh Mehta and Gopal Ram sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
