Dehradun – The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has started preparations to ensure smooth arrangements for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the guidance of Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj and Tourism Secretary Sachin Kurve, BKTC’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vijay Prasad Thapliyal is leading the efforts.
On Wednesday, Thapliyal visited Badrinath Dham to inspect the preparations and assess the facilities. He also reviewed the conditions of committee-operated rest houses and offices along the Yatra route. On Tuesday, the CEO inspected the rest houses at Tehri, Ghansali, Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag, Chamoli, Pipalkoti, and Joshimath. A meeting was held in Joshimath, where he instructed employees to ensure proper arrangements before the Yatra begins.
During the inspection at Badrinath Dham, it was observed that snow had accumulated up to one and a half feet in some areas, but no major damage occurred except minor harm to rain shelters. Safety personnel stationed during the winter were also acknowledged for their service. The inspection covered various areas, including the temple complex, the welcome office at the bus terminal, rest houses, the darshan path, Tapt Kund premises, and the Alaknanda Ghat.
Dr. Harish Gaud, the media in-charge of BKTC, informed that CEO Thapliyal will continue his inspection on March 27 at Narsingh Temple and Jyotirmath Office. On March 28, he will visit Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, followed by inspections of rest houses at Guptkashi, Sonprayag, Gaurikund, Kalimath, Kaliyasaur, Srinagar, and Rudraprayag. On March 29, the CEO will inspect rest houses in Pauri, Devprayag, and Rishikesh.
