A shocking incident of robbery involving a 65-year-old woman, Bishni Devi, has been reported in the Devdura area of Champawat district. According to the information, Bishni Devi was cutting grass when an unknown masked man snatched her gold necklace (Guloband). Before committing the robbery, the masked individual had come to her house, pretending to ask for water, exploiting the long-standing tradition of hospitality in the region, where strangers are welcomed and offered water.
This incident has created a sense of fear and insecurity among the local residents. The police have taken swift action and filed a case under FIR number 26/24 in Thana Patti under section 309(6) BNS. Efforts are underway to track down and arrest the perpetrator.
The district police have assured the public that they are investigating the matter thoroughly and will apprehend the suspect soon.
