Devotees have shown immense enthusiasm for the Char Dham Yatra 2025, with over 1.65 lakh registrations on the first day itself. According to the tourism department, Kedarnath Dham emerged as the most preferred destination, with 53,570 devotees securing their pilgrimage permits on day one. Thousands also registered for Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri Dham.
The registration portal and mobile app were opened to devotees at 7 AM on Thursday. Secretary of the Tourism Department, Sachin Kurve, confirmed the smooth functioning of the portal and emphasized that Aadhaar card numbers are mandatory for registration this year.
Char Dham Yatra 2025 Registration Data (Day 1)
- Kedarnath Dham: 53,570 registrations
- Badrinath Dham: 49,385 registrations
- Gangotri Dham: 30,933 registrations
- Yamunotri Dham: 30,224 registrations
- Hemkund Sahib: 1,180 registrations
The Yatra will officially commence on April 30, when the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri open, followed by the opening of Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham. The state government and the tourism department have intensified preparations to ensure a safe and organized pilgrimage experience.
Helicopter Service Bookings to Begin in April
Helicopter bookings for Kedarnath will commence in the first week of April. The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has completed all necessary preparations. Helicopter services will operate from Guptkashi, Sirsi, and Phata through nine private aviation companies. Registration for the Char Dham Yatra will be mandatory for booking tickets through the IRCTC website. UCADA CEO Sonika assured that services will be operational on schedule.
