Cleanliness Drive Conducted with Students Through Street Play in Tehri Garhwal

Tehri Garhwal – A cleanliness drive was organized today at Jurana village, the origin point of Chandrabhaga Gad, under the Namami Gange initiative by Government College Chandrabadni (Naikhari), Tehri Garhwal. Students performed a street play, spreading awareness about cleanliness and water conservation while encouraging community participation.

The campaign saw active participation from Jurana village women, students of Government Primary School (Jurana), and college students. A seminar on water conservation and river cleanliness was also held, where experts, including Dr. Suresh Bhatt (Economics), Dr. Sachin Semwal (Sanskrit), Dr. Varsha Verma (English), Soumya Kabatiyal (Geography), and Dr. G.P. Thapliyal (Namami Gange Nodal Officer), provided insights on environmental cleanliness, waste water management, water conservation, and plastic elimination.

Following the seminar, participants took an oath to maintain water sources and cleanliness. Villagers and volunteers also conducted a cleanliness drive at local water sources. The event concluded with the distribution of T-shirts, caps, jute bags, and hand gloves to all 65 participants.
