Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended warm greetings to the people of Uttarakhand on the auspicious occasions of Dhanteras, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, and Bhai Dooj. Wishing health, prosperity, and peace to all, CM Dhami highlighted the significance of each festival, emphasizing that Dhanteras is celebrated as the worship of Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of health, who brings blessings of well-being.
For Diwali, the Chief Minister described it as a festival symbolizing joy, prosperity, and national pride, and extended heartfelt wishes for happiness and success in every household. He expressed hope that the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha would fill everyone’s lives with health, peace, and wealth. He added that Diwali also celebrates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, as it commemorates Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.
Highlighting Govardhan Puja, CM Dhami noted it as a celebration of the preservation of natural resources, vital for both economic and cultural prosperity. For Bhai Dooj, he sent special greetings to the women of Uttarakhand, recognizing the festival as a symbol of sibling love, maternal respect, and family unity.
Lastly, he encouraged everyone to support local products in line with PM Narendra Modi’s “Vocal for Local” initiative, urging the promotion of indigenous goods to contribute to the vision of an “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India).
