CM Dhami Highlights Achievements, Promises Crackdown on Illegal Encroachments

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the formation of the Uttarakhand Dharmasva and Tirthatan Parishad ahead of the Char Dham Yatra. He emphasized the council’s role in promoting pilgrimage tourism and described the upcoming winter tourism season as a gamechanger for the state’s economy and employment. Addressing the media at the Chief Minister’s residence, he reiterated the government’s commitment to removing illegal encroachments across the state.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the state will continue its strict actions against illegal occupations, particularly against unlawful madrassas and unauthorized land encroachments. He clarified that the crackdown is not against any specific community but is aimed at maintaining law and order.

CM Dhami underlined the significant impact of winter tourism on the local economy. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s frequent visits to pilgrimage sites like Kedarnath and Adi Kailash for boosting tourist inflow. The Chief Minister assured that all necessary preparations for the upcoming winter season are being prioritized to maximize the state’s tourism potential.

Landmark Achievements and Development

Reflecting on his government’s achievements over the past three years, Dhami expressed gratitude for the leadership of PM Modi and the people’s support. He noted that the state has overcome major challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the Reni disaster, and the Silkyara tunnel incident. Key infrastructure projects, including the Lakhwar, Song, and Jamrani dam projects, have been approved and implemented under the double-engine government.

Additionally, he announced the successful hosting of the 38th National Games, where Uttarakhand athletes earned 103 medals, securing the seventh position. The government has increased prize money for medalists and introduced out-of-turn appointments for winners in various departments.

Emphasizing the role of women in the state’s development, CM Dhami stated that his government has reserved 30% of government jobs for women and initiated cooperative sector reservations. He reaffirmed his commitment to creating 1.5 lakh “Lakhpati Didis” under self-help schemes, contributing to the state’s self-reliance and economic growth.

Dhami hailed the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) as a milestone, positioning Uttarakhand as the first state in India to enact it. He also highlighted the introduction of a stringent anti-copying law, which has helped prevent exam malpractices. With over 20,000 vacant government posts filled, he claimed the recruitment process has been transparent and free from corruption.

The Chief Minister concluded by emphasizing the government’s dedication to achieving the vision of a developed Uttarakhand by 2047. He encouraged public participation in shaping the state’s future, underscoring that the path may be challenging, but progress remains steady.
