Dehradun police have arrested a wanted criminal, Ehsan (22), who was involved in multiple cow slaughter cases. Ehsan, carrying a ₹15,000 bounty, had been evading arrest for a long time.
On Wednesday morning, during a routine police check near Timli Dharmawala in the Sahaspur area, Ehsan, who was riding a motorcycle, attempted to flee. The police chased him, leading to an exchange of fire in the Timli forest. During the encounter, he was shot in the leg by the police.
The injured accused was taken to a hospital in Vikasnagar. Dehradun SSP and SP Vikasnagar arrived at the hospital to assess the situation. Ehsan, a resident of Saharanpur, has been involved in several cow slaughter cases and was wanted by Clement Town police in Dehradun. He also has cases registered against him in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
Ehsan has been linked to cow slaughter incidents in Vikasnagar and Puruwala (Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh). He has over 18 cases registered against him under the Gangster Act in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. His name has also surfaced in a cow slaughter case in Raipur.

The police recovered a motorcycle, a 12-bore pistol, one spent cartridge, and one live round from him. Authorities have assured strict action against organized criminal activities in the region.
