In a tragic road accident in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, six young men and women lost their lives when their car collided with a container and then crashed into a tree. The incident, which occurred near ONGC Chowk in the Cantt area at approximately 2 am, left the car severely damaged. One individual was injured and is currently hospitalized. Police have taken the container into custody and are investigating further.
Dehradun SP City Pramod Kumar informed ANI that the accident happened around 2 am at the ONGC intersection. The driver of the container involved in the collision has been arrested, and authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
According to police, the Innova car was traveling from Kishan Nagar Chowk and, upon reaching ONGC Chowk, struck the container with significant force, causing the car’s bonnet to latch onto the container’s rear. After the initial collision, the car veered about 100 meters in the wrong direction before crashing into a tree.
The horrific nature of the accident shocked onlookers. The victims, three of whom were young women, were aged between 18 and 24 and were residents of Delhi, Dehradun, and Himachal Pradesh. All were studying in reputable institutions in Dehradun.
Police officers arrived at the scene to find the Innova car severely wrecked, with six of the seven occupants dead on the spot. The deceased were transported to Coronation, Doon, and Indresh Hospital mortuaries, while the injured, Siddhesh Agarwal (25), is receiving treatment at Synergy Hospital and remains in critical condition.

- Rishabh Jain (24), son of Tarun Jain, resident of Rajpur Road
