In Uttarakhand, the final rites of former MLAs and individuals with notable contributions to society will now be conducted with state honors. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made this announcement during the assembly session on Wednesday.
BSP MLA Mohammad Shahzad paid tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and former Jwalapur MLA Chandrashekhar in the assembly. He urged the Chief Minister to grant state honors for the cremation of public representatives. CM Dhami agreed, citing the recent state-honored farewell of late artist Ghanna Bhai. He confirmed that this honor would now be extended to all former MLAs and those who have made significant contributions to society.
