Dehradun (Doiwala): Police have registered a case against four individuals, including two brothers, in connection with a land fraud complaint filed by a woman from Pauri Garhwal. The case pertains to alleged cheating and illegal sale of a part of her purchased property near the Lachhiwala flyover on Haridwar Road.
According to Kotwali in-charge Inspector Kamal Kumar Lunthi, the complainant, Suman Devi, a resident of Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal, reported that in 2020 she bought a 163-square-yard plot from Rohit Dutta and Vaibhav Dutta for ₹13.81 lakh. The plot is located in Mouza Missarwala Kala near the Lachhiwala flyover.
Suman Devi stated that Rohit and Vaibhav are brothers. When she later visited the site to begin construction, she discovered that a 20-foot passage of the same plot had been sold by the accused, along with their uncle, to another person.
The complainant alleged that despite repeated demands, the accused refused to refund her money. Following her complaint, police have registered a case against Rohit Dutta, his brother Vaibhav Dutta, their uncle (a resident of Sargodha Apartment, Plot No. 13, Sector 7, Dwarka, South West Delhi), and one witness involved in the deal.
Police said that an investigation has been initiated based on the complaint, and the documents related to the property sale are being examined.
