Haridwar Tragedy: Mother Murders Twin Infants Amid Stress After Love Marriage

In a deeply disturbing incident from Haridwar, a woman allegedly killed her six-month-old twin daughters by strangling them in a fit of rage. The accused mother, struggling with financial difficulties and child-rearing challenges, was reportedly under severe mental stress.

Struggles After Love Marriage Led to Tragedy
The woman, Shubhangi from Pilibhit, met Mahesh Saklani of Chamba, Tehri Garhwal, during his job at Sidcul. They entered into a love marriage around a year and a quarter ago and settled in a rented house in Jwalapur. A few months ago, Shubhangi gave birth to twin girls. According to police, the couple had been facing financial pressure and emotional strain since then.

Infants Killed in a Fit of Frustration
On the day of the incident, both babies were reportedly crying continuously. Shubhangi, already irritable and mentally exhausted, allegedly lost her temper. As per police reports, she first tried to silence the crying by covering the babies with a quilt and eventually strangled them using a scarf.

Shocking Betrayal of Motherhood
The incident has shocked the community, raising concerns over the lack of support for new mothers in distress. The police have taken the mother into custody and are conducting a detailed investigation into the matter.
