Dehradun: The process to launch helicopter services for Yamunotri Dham during the Char Dham Yatra has gained momentum. The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has issued a tender for the service, awaiting approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
First-Ever Helicopter Service to Yamunotri
Until now, no helicopter service was available for Yamunotri Dham, forcing pilgrims to trek 5-6 km or rely on horses, mules, and palanquins. The new helicopter service aims to ease travel, especially for elderly and unwell devotees.
