Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has urged the public to promote local products as the Uttarakhand government has mandated that all departments and offices purchase products from the House of Himalayas for meetings and events.
House of Himalayas is a common brand representing products made by women self-help groups, farmers, farmer producer organizations, and rural entrepreneurs in Uttarakhand. The brand was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Secretary Radhika Jha stated that the House of Himalayas brand has quickly gained recognition for its quality. Products from the brand are also available on e-commerce portals.
In line with this initiative, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has sent letters to the heads of all departments and offices, directing them to prioritize the purchase of House of Himalayas products for departmental meetings, events, and during major festivals such as Holi and Diwali. This move is expected to boost the economy of rural areas.
Inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s “Vocal for Local” mantra, the Uttarakhand government is actively promoting the House of Himalayas brand. High-quality products from this brand are available in gift packs for major occasions like Diwali. All residents are encouraged to purchase these products to support the livelihoods of rural entrepreneurs in the state.
