A severe accident occurred on the Roorkee-Haridwar Highway on Friday morning when a car crashed into a sand-laden tractor-trolley. The car was extensively damaged, leaving a couple and the driver critically injured. They were initially taken to the Civil Hospital in Roorkee but were later referred to a higher center due to their critical condition. The incident caused a traffic jam on the highway, which was cleared after the police removed the car using a crane.
According to the Narson Police Outpost, the injured were identified as Budhiram and his wife Saraswati, residents of Dwarka Sector, Delhi, along with the car driver, Harman, a resident of Muslim Mohalla, Dehradun. The accident occurred near Narson Khurd village when their car rammed into the tractor-trolley.
Eyewitnesses informed the police, and locals rushed to help the victims. After reaching the scene, the police managed to extract the injured from the mangled car and send them to the hospital. Meanwhile, the tractor driver fled the scene, abandoning the trolley.
Narson Police Outpost in-charge Dhwajveer Singh stated that the victims’ families had been informed, and efforts are underway to locate the absconding driver. Both the car and the trolley were cleared from the road to restore the flow of traffic.
