Dehradun — Following the directives of the Union Home Ministry, a seminar was held today at the Police Lines auditorium in Dehradun to promote public awareness about the new criminal laws that came into effect on July 1, 2024. Representatives from various organizations, students from educational institutions, advocates, and police personnel participated in the session.
The primary objective of the seminar was to ensure that information about the new laws reaches every section of society, especially the last person in line, enabling citizens to fully understand the provisions and rights included in the new legal framework.
Officials announced that to further spread awareness, a public exhibition on the new criminal laws will be organized next month in Dehradun. The Union Home Minister is expected to inaugurate the event, where visitors will be informed about simplified provisions designed for public convenience and assistance.
Speakers from different sections of society also shared valuable suggestions during the seminar to make the upcoming exhibition more informative and accessible, ensuring that people can easily understand the key aspects of the new legal system through simple and interactive displays.
