Probe Ordered into Teachers in Uttarakhand Hired with Degrees from Monad University

Uttarakhand – A probe has been initiated into government primary teachers in Uttarakhand who allegedly secured jobs using fake D.El.Ed and B.Ed degrees from Uttar Pradesh’s Monad University. Following revelations from the UP STF, the Education Department has directed verification of all suspected teachers’ permanent residence and educational documents on 19 December.

According to official sources, several individuals from UP who completed D.El.Ed or B.El.Ed from Monad University have been appointed as assistant teachers in Uttarakhand. The issue surfaced after the UP STF exposed a racket involving fake degrees issued by the Hapur-based university, which were used by candidates to obtain government jobs not only in UP and Bihar, but also in Maharashtra, Haryana and Uttarakhand.

After the news broke, the Education Department conducted internal verification and found that multiple teachers currently serving in Uttarakhand’s primary schools were appointed on the basis of degrees from Monad University. Orders have been issued to thoroughly verify their documents before the Deputy Education Officer on 19 December.
