A retired Indian Air Force employee was shot dead in Haridwar on Monday night. The incident took place in Bahadarabad police station area, where 62-year-old Bhagwan Singh, a resident of JVG Colony, Jamalpur Kalan (Kankhal), was travelling by car with his 22-year-old son Yashpal to attend a wedding in Roshnabad. The accused was travelling in the car after requesting a lift.
According to police, Yashpal was driving the car when a young man asked for a lift near Jatwada Bridge in Jwalapur. The family allowed him to sit in the back seat.
