Passenger Rescued After Slipping Between Train and Platform at Rudrapur Station

Rudrapur, November 24, 2024: A potentially tragic incident was averted at Rudrapur railway station when a passenger attempting to board a moving train slipped and got stuck between the train and the platform. Thanks to the quick response of an RPF constable, the passenger’s life was saved.

The incident occurred on Sunday as Dehradun Express (Train No. 14120) was departing Rudrapur station for Kathgodam. The passenger had stepped off the train to collect luggage but attempted to reboard the moving AC coach. While trying to open the closed coach door, he lost his balance and fell into the narrow gap between the train and the platform.

Constable Vikas from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), who was on duty at the platform, promptly pulled the passenger to safety. The passenger suffered minor injuries, including scratches on his legs, but expressed deep gratitude to the constable for saving his life.

According to RPF Inspector Tarun Verma, the passenger was safely sent to his destination on the same train after the incident. The quick thinking and prompt action of the constable were widely appreciated.
