Dehradun: Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi inspected the under-construction Sainya Dham site at Guniyalgaon and reviewed the pace and quality of ongoing works. He directed officials to ensure timely completion while maintaining high construction standards.
Speaking to the media, the Minister announced that the inauguration of Sainya Dham is proposed for 9 November, coinciding with the Silver Jubilee of Uttarakhand’s formation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the event.
Joshi said the grand Sainya Dham, dedicated to the nation’s soldiers, is a joint vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He described it as one of India’s most distinctive war memorials, inspired by similar monuments across the country.
The Minister informed that the memorial will feature stories of revered soldiers such as Baba Harbhajan Singh and Baba Jaswant Singh. It will also include a museum, a theatre, and a light and sound show highlighting the courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.
He added that, after its completion, Sainya Dham will become a symbolic pilgrimage site where visitors will come to honour the martyrs and learn about their heroism. Joshi instructed officials to prioritise key works, including the Nakshatra Vatika and other essential facilities.
