Chiddarwala – A tragic accident took place near Chidderwala in Dehradun district on Sunday afternoon, where two young men riding a scooty lost their lives. The collision occurred when a Scorpio car hit their scooty, causing them to fall under a moving truck ahead.
According to initial reports, a truck, Scorpio, and scooty were all headed from Dehradun towards Haridwar. Near the petrol pump at Chidderwala, the Scorpio crashed into the scooty from behind. The impact threw the two riders in front of the truck, which ran them over.
One of the youths died on the spot, while the other succumbed to injuries while being taken to the hospital. Police, upon receiving information, reached the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
Station in-charge B.L. Bharti stated that the identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed. The Scorpio driver fled the scene, and police have launched a search to locate him.
