Smart Class Launched at Vidya Bharati School in Uttarkashi for Digital Learning Boost

Uttarkashi – A smart class has been launched at Mahashay Rajeev Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Tiloth, Uttarkashi, to promote digital education among students. This is the first Vidya Bharati school in Garhwal and hilly regions to offer learning through modern technology. Students will benefit from digital platforms and attend online sessions with foreign experts in English and other languages.

The initiative, supported by school resources and the Prithvikul organization, currently benefits 275 students from nursery to class five. The school now has 20 computers, CCTV cameras across the campus, and four interactive panels to enhance digital engagement across subjects.

According to Principal Arvind Rawat, this step is helping students connect with new-age technology. He said the school, established in 1972, saw a decline in enrolment due to private schools and better facilities. Since 2020, digital upgrades have improved infrastructure, and student numbers have risen.

The school is also working to connect parents and locals with digital education. Plans are in place to provide free training in the computer lab after school hours for interested community members.

While many Vidya Bharati schools in Uttarakhand’s plains already use digital tools, lack of resources delayed adoption in hilly regions. This initiative in Uttarkashi aims to extend digital education to more schools in the mountains.
