Dehradun: On the occasion of Uttarakhand’s Silver Jubilee of statehood, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid floral tributes to the martyrs of the statehood movement at the Shaheed Sthal located in the Dehradun Court complex. Later, during the State Movement Fighters’ Honour Ceremony held at Police Lines, he honoured the families of martyred and veteran movement participants. A special helicopter flower shower was also carried out over the Shaheed Sthal and Police Lines to pay tribute to the agitators.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami said the formation of Uttarakhand was not a mere political decision but the result of the immense sacrifice, struggle, and determination of thousands of people. He recalled the painful incidents of Khatima, Mussoorie, and Rampur Tiraha as unforgettable chapters of the state’s history. The Chief Minister emphasized that the government continues to prioritize the respect and welfare of statehood agitators, describing their pensions and benefits as a mark of gratitude rather than aid.
