In a festive gesture ahead of Diwali, the Uttarakhand government has approved a special bonus for state employees, municipal department workers, and other contractual staff. The announcement, made on October 29, 2024, states that the bonus applies to the 2023-24 financial year, covering a 30-day period. Employees in the category of “Group C” and “Group D” with a grade pay of ₹4800 or lower will benefit from this bonus.
The bonus amount has been set at a maximum of ₹7,000, calculated based on 30.4 days. For eligible employees, this translates to a per-day bonus rate, ensuring that those who qualify will receive an effective payout of ₹6,907.89.
Furthermore, specific provisions have been made for contractual workers who have been in service for the last three years or more. Such workers, having completed at least 240 days in each fiscal year, will receive a bonus of ₹1,200, calculated similarly on a per-day basis.
The approval letter emphasizes that employees under disciplinary review, or those with pending court cases, will not be eligible for this benefit. Additionally, employees with excessive leave or absences during the qualifying period will not be considered.
