Weather conditions are expected to change once again in the higher altitude regions of Uttarakhand, with the possibility of rainfall and snowfall from today, according to the Meteorological Department.
As per the forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, light rain and snowfall are likely in parts of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts.
Officials stated that areas situated at altitudes above 3,000 metres are more likely to witness fresh snowfall. The expected weather activity may lead to a dip in temperatures in the mountainous regions.
Meanwhile, the plains and other districts of the state are likely to experience dry weather conditions. Looking ahead, similar weather patterns are expected to continue in the higher reaches on 19 February, while dry conditions are forecast across the state from 20 to 22 February.
Authorities have advised residents and travellers in high-altitude areas to remain cautious, especially in view of possible snowfall and slippery road conditions.
