On the final day for filing nominations for the mayoral elections, 11 candidates from BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD), UKD Democratic, and independent contenders submitted their papers. Additionally, 431 candidates are contesting for various ward positions.
The municipal corporation office witnessed heavy crowds of candidates and their supporters throughout Monday. Independent candidate Sardar Khan Pappu was the first to file his nomination, while senior Congress leader Arushi Sundriyal surprised everyone by filing her papers at the last minute.
