19-Year-Old Law Student Critical After Speeding Car Hits Her Near Sarovar Hotel in Dehradun

Dehradun: A tragic road accident near Sarovar Hotel on October 23 has left a 19-year-old girl, Pragya Singh, fighting for her life. The Uttarakhand University law student suffered severe head injuries and remains in a coma at a city hospital. Her mother, Asha Singh, who lost her husband years ago, now sits outside the ICU, praying for her daughter’s recovery.

According to Patel Nagar Police Station in-charge Chandra Bhan Adhikari, the incident is being treated as a hit-and-run case. The accident occurred between 4:00 and 4:20 PM when Pragya, who had just returned from Delhi, was walking after getting off a bus. A speeding car struck her from behind and fled the scene immediately.

Asha Singh, who single-handedly raises her three children, said the accident has shattered their family. Her youngest son, just 13 years old, is in deep shock while she spends her days between the hospital and police stations, seeking justice for her daughter.

Police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the vehicle and identify the driver.
