Dehradun: If you drive in Dehradun, this news is important. Soon, 21 new cranes will be deployed across the city to tow vehicles parked illegally. This means that if you break traffic rules or park in the wrong spot, you might have to visit the police station to get your vehicle back.
Currently, 9 Cranes in Operation
At present, Dehradun has only 9 operational cranes, working in areas like Mussoorie, Rishikesh, ISBT, Ghantaghar, Sahastradhara, Ballupur, and IT Park. However, due to the rising number of vehicles and traffic pressure, the government has decided to increase the number of cranes.
Where the 21 New Cranes Will Be Deployed:
- Rishikesh Area: 2 cranes (Dhalwala, Nataraj Chowk, Mansa Devi, Shyampur, etc.)
- Mussoorie Area: 2 cranes (Mussoorie Taxi Stand, Fire Station, Picture Palace, King Craig, etc.)
- Ghantaghar-Chakrata Road: 2 cranes (Doon Chowk, Tehsil Chowk, Darshan Lal Chowk, Ghantaghar, etc.)
- Ghantaghar to Rajpur Road: 3 cranes (Orient Chowk, Dilaram Chowk, Great Value Tiraha, etc.)
- ISBT-Saharanpur Road: 3 cranes (Prince Chowk, Railway Station, Lal Pul, etc.)
- Kargi to Jogiwala: 1 crane (Kargi Chowk, Rispana, Vidhan Sabha Tiraha, etc.)
- Ballupur to Premnagar: 2 cranes (Ballupur Chowk, Balliwala Chowk, Premnagar, etc.)
- Sahastradhara to Raipur: 1 crane (Survey Chowk, Chuna Bhata, Sahastradhara Crossing, etc.)
- IT Park to Canal Road: 1 crane
- Vikasnagar Area: 2 cranes (Herbertpur, Vikasnagar Mandi, Jivangarh, etc.)
