7th Edition of FESTLA 7.0 begins at Uttaranchal Institute of Management

Dehradun, 14 Nov: Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organised the 7th edition of its annual fest – FESTLA 7.0 – here, today, marking yet another celebration of talent, culture, and youthful enthusiasm. The inaugural ceremony blended tradition, creativity, and academic dignity, making it a remarkable beginning to the flagship event.

The programme commenced with the introduction of the event, setting the tone for an energetic and vibrant fest. This was followed by the warm welcome of guests and dignitaries, as faculty and students came together to honour the leadership of Uttaranchal University. A series of floral welcomes were extended by Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director of UIM, to the distinguished dignitaries, including Jitendra Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University; Anuradha Joshi, Vice Chairperson, Sushila Devi Centre for Professional Studies and Research; Ankita Joshi, Vice President, Uttaranchal University; Prof (Dr) Abhishek Joshi, Director of Student Affairs & IT; Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor; and Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro–Vice Chancellor.

One of the highlights of the inauguration was the Balloon Release Ceremony, symbolising the spirit of freedom, festivity, and the soaring aspirations of the students of UIM. The cultural segment of the ceremony began with an auspicious Ganesh Vandana, invoking blessings for a successful event. This was followed by a series of captivating performances such as singing, group dance and few solo performances, each showcasing the rich talent of students. More than 80 universities, colleges, and schools participated in FESTLA 7.0, with over 400 students competing in a wide range of events and competitions, adding tremendous diversity and vibrancy to the fest.

The formal proceedings continued with a welcome note by the Director, UIM, highlighting the vision behind FESTLA and its role in shaping holistic student development. This was followed with an address by Vice President Ankita Joshi, who encouraged students to embrace creativity, take initiative, and cultivate leadership, emphasising the importance of youth-driven innovation and collaborative learning. Adding further motivation to the event, President Jitendra Joshi shared his outlook on academic excellence and community-driven growth, urging students to dream boldly and contribute meaningfully to society. FESTLA 7.0 once again proved to be a dynamic platform for students to express themselves, celebrate cultural diversity, and engage in healthy competition. With its vibrant opening ceremony, the fest set a strong foundation for an exciting and successful event ahead.
