Tehri – A shocking incident has emerged from Tehri district where a bear attacked three people, including a village head and a forest guard, leaving them seriously injured. The incident took place in the forest area below Sulyadhar in Thaapli Tok under Thauldhar block.
According to information, village head Yudhveer Singh Rawat, forest guard Ajaypal Panwar and local resident Vinod Singh Rawat had gone into the forest to assess bear movement in the area. During this time, a bear already present in the forest suddenly attacked them.
All three tried to defend themselves and reportedly fought back for a considerable time before managing to drive the animal away. However, in the struggle, they sustained multiple injuries as the bear attacked them with its claws.
After the incident, other villagers reached the spot and rescued the injured. They were brought to the road with the help of makeshift support and later rushed to AIIMS Rishikesh for treatment, where they are currently undergoing medical care.

It is worth noting that this is not the first such incident in the area. A few days ago, a woman from Sulyadhar village was also seriously injured in a similar bear attack and is still under treatment at AIIMS. The repeated wildlife attacks have created fear among local residents, raising concerns over increasing human-wildlife conflict in the region.
