Haridwar : Wife kills husband with daughter’s help, stages suicide attempt

A shocking murder case has been uncovered in Haridwar, where a woman, along with her minor daughter, allegedly killed her husband and tried to pass it off as suicide. The incident took place in Lahadpur village under Shyampur police station area.

Police revealed that the accused woman mixed sleeping pills in her husband’s alcohol and later smothered him with a pillow. After committing the crime, she reached the police station with her daughter and claimed that her husband had died by suicide after consuming poison.

According to police officials, the case came to light after the victim, identified as Bablu, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his room. During the investigation, inconsistencies in the family’s statements raised suspicion, leading to a detailed probe.

During questioning, the couple’s son reportedly disclosed that his mother and sister had suffocated his father using a pillow. Based on this input, police interrogated the accused, who later confessed to the crime.

Police have arrested the woman and presented her in court, from where she has been sent to judicial custody. The minor daughter has been taken into protection and sent to a juvenile home as per legal procedures.

During the investigation, police recovered evidence including a packet of poison, an empty alcohol pouch, a steel glass used for drinking, a scarf, and the pillow used in the crime.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the murder was planned due to alleged extramarital affairs and frequent domestic disputes. The accused woman told police that her husband used to assault them after learning about these relationships, which led to the conspiracy to eliminate him.

Police are also probing the role of the woman’s alleged partner and another व्यक्ति linked to the case. Further investigation is underway.
