A team of army personnel and sevadars has reached Hemkund Sahib after clearing snow from the route ahead of the temple opening. Upon reaching the site, the team first offered Ardas at the Gurudwara before beginning further work. The personnel will now stay at the site and continue clearing snow from the path to ensure smooth movement for pilgrims.

The yatra to Hemkund Sahib is scheduled to begin from May 23. For this, teams from 418 Independent Field Company, Ninth Mountain Brigade, along with Gurudwara sevadars, had set out earlier to clear the route. The team crossed the major snow barrier at Atalakoti and reached the shrine.
