Gopeshwar. Two pilgrims from Maharashtra died due to cardiac arrest at Badrinath Dham on Monday, taking the total number of deaths to three so far during the ongoing pilgrimage.
The deceased have been identified as Suresh Motiram Nemade (60), resident of Patoda Alampur, and Makhanlal Jagannath Kothari (70), resident of Chandrapur. Both had arrived for Char Dham Yatra to offer prayers at the shrine.
According to officials, both pilgrims fell ill suddenly due to health complications in the high-altitude region during the journey. They were immediately taken to the Primary Health Centre at Badrinath Dham, where they died during treatment following cardiac arrest.

Badrinath SHO Navneet Bhandari said that earlier on April 30, Basant Ram Puradkar (75), a resident of Mumbai, had also died during treatment after his health deteriorated. With the latest deaths, the toll has reached three.
