SC welfare schemes should rach it benificiaries - mukesh kumar

Mukesh Kumar, the Chairman of the Uttarakhand Scheduled Castes Commission, has emphasized the need for government welfare schemes aimed at improving the lives of the Scheduled Castes (SC) population to effectively reach the intended beneficiaries. He highlighted this during a meeting with state officials, urging them to ensure that these schemes are implemented at the grassroots level.

Focus on Transparency and Accountability

Kumar stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in the distribution of benefits. He mentioned that the lack of proper dissemination of information about the schemes has led to many eligible individuals missing out on the benefits. He called for active involvement of local authorities to spread awareness about available schemes such as scholarships, skill development programs, and financial assistance schemes.

Strict Monitoring and Timely Implementation

He also recommended that regular monitoring of the implementation process be conducted to avoid delays. Kumar further urged officials to ensure timely disbursal of funds and resources, stating that bureaucratic delays often prevent those in need from receiving benefits at the right time. He said, “Government schemes like housing, education, healthcare, and financial aid must be efficiently delivered to the SC community.”

Addressing Issues at Ground Level

During the meeting, several issues regarding the inadequate implementation of SC-specific schemes were discussed. Many beneficiaries have raised complaints about not receiving the assistance promised by various government programs. To address these concerns, Kumar asked officials to conduct ground-level surveys and act on the feedback provided by the SC community members.

Call for Coordination Among Departments

Kumar also highlighted the need for better coordination among different government departments to streamline the process. He noted that overlapping jurisdictions often lead to confusion and delays, which directly affect the beneficiaries. The Commission plans to work closely with the concerned departments to ensure a smooth execution of welfare programs.

Awareness Campaigns to Be Launched

To increase awareness, Mukesh Kumar suggested launching extensive campaigns in rural and urban areas. He believes that with proper information channels, a larger section of the SC community can take advantage of the welfare schemes provided by the government.
