Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday announced an increase in the honorarium given under the Veerangana Teelu Rauteli Award and the Anganwadi Worker Award.
The honorarium for the Veerangana Teelu Rauteli Award has been increased from Rs 51,000 to Rs 75,000. The award amount for Anganwadi workers has also been increased from Rs 51,000 to Rs 61,000.
CM Dhami made the announcement during the Teelu Rauteli Award distribution ceremony held in Dehradun. The decision is aimed at recognizing and encouraging women who have made significant contributions in different fields, along with the dedicated work of Anganwadi workers across the state.
The Chief Minister said the state government is continuously working to recognize the contribution of women and provide encouragement to Anganwadi workers. He said their work plays an important role in strengthening communities and supporting the development of the state.
The Teelu Rauteli Award is named after Veerangana Teelu Rauteli, who is remembered for her courage and contribution in the history of Uttarakhand. The award is presented to women for notable achievements and contributions in various fields.
The increase in the award amount comes as an additional recognition of the efforts of the women selected for the honor. Similarly, the enhanced Anganwadi Worker Award is intended to acknowledge the contribution of workers involved in grassroots-level services.
The announcements were made during the annual award distribution programme, where award recipients were recognized for their work and achievements.
