A joint team of the administration and police sealed two madrasas allegedly operating without recognition in Kashipur on Wednesday. The action was carried out during an inspection of institutions suspected of operating without the required approval.
District Minority Welfare Officer Vipin Singh Kandari and Kashipur Kotwali Inspector Harendra Chaudhary led the inspection team. Police personnel accompanied the officials during the checking operation.
The team conducted inspections at two madrasas operating in the Katoratal police outpost area — Madarsa Mohammad Hanif Siddiqui and Kasif-ul-Uloom.
The two institutions were sealed during the action in the presence of the tehsildar. The managers present at the spot, Mohammad Rafiq and Shamim Ahmad, were issued a strict warning.
Officials warned that any attempt to resume operations illegally could lead to further legal action against those responsible.
Additional police personnel from Kunda, ITI and Jaspur police stations were deployed during the operation to maintain law and order in the area.
ASP Swapna Kishore Singh said the situation remained peaceful and law and order was under control following the action.
The administration’s action comes as part of checks on madrasa institutions operating without the required recognition. Further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing verification process.
