Panchayati Raj Minister OP Rajbhar Links Lord Hanuman to Rajbhar Community

Uttar Pradesh’s Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar sparked debate on Saturday by associating Lord Hanuman with the Rajbhar community. He stated that during the time when Ahiravan took Lord Ram and Lakshman to Patalpuri, no one dared to rescue them except Lord Hanuman, who, being born in the Rajbhar community, brought them back safely.

The minister made this statement during the foundation stone-laying ceremony for a statue of Maharaja Suheldev in Vasudeva village. In his address, he anticipated criticism for his remarks but added that elders in villages still refer to monkeys as “Bhar Bandar,” hinting at Lord Hanuman’s monkey form.

Rajbhar also emphasized that eligible beneficiaries would be granted access to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Housing Schemes. Applications can be submitted at block, tehsil, and district levels based on eligibility criteria.

Local leaders present at the event included Arvind Rajbhar, Munim Rajbhar, Rohit Rajbhar, Baleshwar Rajbhar, Lal Badan, Hiralal Rajbhar, and Sugreev Rajbhar.
