‘Vidya Kumbh’ Brings Smart Education for Workers’ Children

In preparation for Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, special attention is being given to the education of children of sanitation workers and laborers. Temporary ‘Vidya Kumbh’ primary schools have been set up in the mela area to ensure these children’s education continues uninterrupted. Initially, five such schools have been established, with plans to expand their numbers. These schools cater to students from Class 1 to Class 5.

To make learning engaging, smart classes equipped with audio-visual teaching methods have been introduced. This initiative is being supported by the Basic Education Department in collaboration with the Shiv Nadar Foundation. According to Vidya Kumbh Sector 2 Principal Dilip Mishra, children of workers from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and other states are also benefiting from these schools.

Classes at these schools will continue until February 26 during the Mahakumbh. After the event, the Basic Education Department will issue certificates to the students. These certificates will enable them to qualify for their respective classes’ exams upon rejoining their regular schools.
