The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee released its list of candidates for the chairperson posts in 28 municipal bodies late Saturday night. The final agreement on the list was reached after a six-hour meeting at Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya’s residence. Congress Vice President Mathura Das Joshi confirmed the announcement following the senior leaders’ meeting.

Increased Tax Payment Activity in Dehradun Municipal Corporation
Ahead of municipal elections, tax payment activities in the Dehradun Municipal Corporation have surged. Over ₹50 lakh in taxes were collected in the past four days. Candidates actively settled outstanding dues to obtain clearance certificates, which are mandatory for contesting elections.
Spike in Nomination Form Purchases for Mayor Elections
In Dehradun, the purchase of nomination forms for the mayor and councilor posts has increased significantly. So far, 23 individuals have purchased 30 nomination forms for the mayoral seat.
