Yellow Alert for Dense Fog in Haridwar, Cold Wave Warning in Hill Areas

Dehradun: The weather in Uttarakhand has been clear for the past two days, bringing some relief to residents. However, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts for Tuesday. Nighttime fog is expected to increase the chill in the plains, although sunshine during the day may provide some relief.

Cold Wave in the Hills

Hill areas of the state are likely to face increased challenges due to cold wave conditions. Meteorologists attribute these fluctuations to changing weather patterns, leading to significant variations in temperature.

Temperature Update

On Monday, Dehradun recorded a maximum temperature of 21.1°C, one degree above normal, and a minimum temperature of 9.7°C, three degrees above normal. Pantnagar, however, registered a maximum temperature of 15.5°C, five degrees below normal, and a minimum temperature of 13°C, eight degrees above normal.

Advisory Issued

The Meteorological Department has advised caution over the coming days, particularly in fog-prone plains and cold wave-affected hill areas. Residents are urged to take necessary precautions to mitigate the impacts of the prevailing weather conditions.
