CM Yogi’s Statement Spurs Investigation Into 100 Waqf Properties

Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directive on reclaiming Waqf properties, 100 Waqf properties in Bareilly district are now under scrutiny for encroachment and measurement verification. The Minority Welfare Department awaits orders from the Waqf Board to initiate documentation reviews and identify illegal occupations.

With 3,171 Waqf properties in the district, many are embroiled in disputes over encroachments. CM Yogi’s assertion, “Action will be taken against those encroaching on Waqf lands, and every inch will be reclaimed,” has intensified the focus on these properties.

Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, President of All India Muslim Jamaat, has called for an impartial investigation, pointing towards possible collusion within the Waqf Board. Meanwhile, Dr. Nafees Khan, General Secretary of Ittihad-e-Millat Council, has emphasized the need for strict action against illegal occupations and the preservation of Waqf properties.
