AAP Revises Candidate List, Changes Names for Two Delhi Seats

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has made adjustments to its candidate list for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, replacing nominees for two constituencies. Sharad Chauhan will now contest from Narela, and Surinder Sethia from Hari Nagar, replacing Dinesh Bhardwaj and Raj Kumari Dhillon, respectively.

Previously, AAP had announced candidates for all 70 constituencies. Party convener Arvind Kejriwal will contest again from New Delhi, while Deputy Chief Minister Atishi will run from Kalkaji.

Key Candidates

The party has fielded its ministers and senior leaders from key constituencies:

  • Somnath Bharti from Malviya Nagar
  • Saurabh Bharadwaj from Greater Kailash
  • Gopal Rai from Babarpur
  • Jarnail Singh from Tilak Nagar
  • Satyendar Jain from Shakur Basti
  • Manish Sisodia from Jangpura
  • Som Dutt from Sadar Bazar

Past Performance and 2025 Elections

In the 2020 elections, AAP secured a landslide victory, winning 62 of the 70 seats, while BJP managed to win 8. Congress failed to open its account. The next assembly elections are likely to be held in February 2025, with official dates yet to be announced.
